A time bank is making waves among elderly communities in Nanjing. By allowing volunteers to store the time they spend helping others out and then exchange it for money, food, or assistance in the future, the government-led initiative is mobilizing the young, fit, and healthy to care for elderly people in the community who have reduced mobility and need companionship and help with daily tasks.
