Beijing’s health authority has reported 33 fever cases “linked to” an Industrial and Commercial Bank of China office building. At a press conference Monday, officials said the patients had all been tested for the coronavirus and returned negative results.
Preliminary tests indicate that the patients may have contracted a type of streptococcus bacteria that causes strep throat and scarlet fever. The infection cluster was associated with the use of the central air-conditioning system in the office building, according to domestic news outlet Caixin.
“All of the patients were treated and observed at home... and no one was in critical condition,” the health authorities said. (Image: People Visual)
