A public college in Henan dismissed a doctor from its affiliated hospital Wednesday after an investigation found him guilty of “serious problems in medical ethics.”
On Monday, a Weibo post said two students from Nanyang Institute of Technology were harassed when they went into the university hospital, which provides medical care to students and staff, for cupping therapy — a traditional Chinese medicine treatment using vacuum suction. According to the post, the doctor touched one student’s breast and offered “breast cupping” to the other. The school started investigating the complaint on Tuesday and soon announced that the doctor was sacked for “nonstandard procedure” and “improper language.”
