    90s Kids: The Designer Girl

Chen Jialun studied in America before returning to Chengdu, the capital of southwestern China’s Sichuan province, to begin her fashion career. She aims to build a personalized commercial brand. “We gather young energy to create new designs and convey our concepts to consumers. We want them to wear our designs confidently.”

This 24-year-old believes you are what you wear. “Lots of people think the point of dressing is simply to look good, but I think it’s more than that. It shows the world your attitude.” Chen employs nearly ten post-90s kids in her studio, all of whom she says dare to imagine.

Lots of people find post-90s kids arrogant since they’ve mostly led easy lives, but Chen sees things differently. She thinks that lack of hardship has enabled her to act without hesitation. “For me, life is about the journey. I don’t care too much about the final destination.”
