People in China have become less worried about COVID-19, according to a survey conducted by several domestic universities in collaboration with Sixth Tone’s sister publication The Paper. The results were released Tuesday.
Researchers studied questionnaire responses from over 14,000 people and found a “significant improvement in emotions” when thinking about the disease. In early February, 64.6% of people surveyed said they felt “anxious” and 64.8% said they felt “scared.” Those rates had dropped to 35.6% and 29.3%, respectively, by late March.
The study also showed that while only 18.7% of people surveyed had received a flu shot last year, 37.1% said they planned to get one this year. (Image: People Visual)
