Do you love the convenience of cashless payments but hate seeing your own homely mug prominently plastered on checkout screens? Chinese fintech company Alipay may have just the thing for you.
In a social media post Tuesday, the mobile payment platform announced that a beauty filter would be incorporated into all of its face-scanning stations at shops nationwide in just a week’s time. “Two weeks ago, I took a knife on a visit to see the (company’s) product manager, and now Alipay has a face-beautifying filter,” the platform joked.
The post also shared an ongoing social media poll conducted by news portal Sina Technology, in which most respondents so far have indicated that they look unattractive in images captured by mobile-payment checkout devices. (Image: IC)
